The demo consists of two separate intercommunicating tasks: The X Windows
client, which runs under unix, and the vxWorksPlus real-time laser controller.

The X Windows client presents the user with a graphically oriented front-end
display which is used to control the real-time laser controller. Inter-task
communication is via ethernet and is used to transfer commands and images from
the front end to the real-time controller.

In order to run this demo, you will need to have two separate systems.

System one hardware should include: CPU, memory, ethernet, disk, and graphics.
System one software should include: Unix 4.3 (5.1) with X Windows, vxWorksPlus
and the laser show software. (The vxWorks is located on system one so that
system two can boot up over the ethernet.

System two hardware should include: CPU, memory, ethernet, D/A board and the
laser beam generator.

Briefly, to start the demo,
        - log in as laser
        - start the laser program with "laser"
        - enter the startup password if you are going to use the laser
                (ie. not in test mode)
        - boot up the vxWorks system over the net with "@"
        - type 'cd "/usr/laser"' on the vxWorks system
        - type '<l' on the vxWorks system
        - After a short while, a window will open and you can hit the help button
'one liners' on each of the options.
