FINAL ELECTRICAL TEST FOR OPTIMUM 5/10

2-18-86

The two following tests require the system to be tested to be in the powered
down condition with the AC cord unplugged from the AC line.

        Ground Continuity Test
1) Plug a standard AC line cord into the line filter's IEC connector. Using a
Digital Voltmeter, measure the resistance from the ground pin of the AC plug to
chassis ground of the system under test. Chassis ground can be most any screw
head other than those used to secure the line filter.

        Hipot Test
2) Unplug the AC line cord from the IEC line filter connector. Plug the IEC
connector from the Hipot tester in to the line filter of the system to be
tested. Set the AC/DC select switch on the Hipot tester to the DC position.
Set the timer control for 65 seconds. Turn the high voltage on and increase
it to 1450 VDC as read on the tester's panel meter. Upon completing the 65
second time interval the tester will automatically shut itself off. The
system under test passes providing no alarm has been activated within the
timed test cycle.
