Subject: keyboards that won't send numeric info
Status: R

I understand the problem that Anita is having with her keyboard. The fix is
pretty simple. Just disassemble the keyboard, and solder in jumper J10. The
keyboard is made by Micro-Switch (model 83ST13-5), and jumper J10 controls the
"function pad encoding option".

If you don't feel comfortable performing this fix, just give customer support
in San Jose a call at (408) 943-1902, and they can arrange to have an NBI
field engineer install the jumper. The requirement to have jumper J10
installed has been present since release 3.03, but I still see keyboards that
don't have it installed.
