Haven't seen an exception yet. I've never had a problem with that, except for non-standard connectors (Zenith Z-159/Z-171) My chronological PC experience only goes back about 10 years though. I might have missed a few headaches because of it. :) -John Higginbotham- -limbo.netpath.net- From higginbo at netpath.net Sat Jan 18 20:25:03 1997 From: higginbo at netpath.net (John Higginbotham) Date: Sun Feb 27 18:26:52 2005 Subject: Firsts Message-ID: <3.0.32.19970118212220.0069e810@netpath.net> At 07:39 PM 1/18/98 -0500, you wrote: > >not all mailers have that! I know the building they are going into is being revovated. I expect the collection to be "set up" in about 4 months. It was a very interesting experience. I am happy they have gone to a better home. I will post a link when they publicly mention it. They are very hard to come by. I hope you get focal running on it soon. I would love to see the teletype printout "Congratulations, You have successfully installed FOCAL on a PDP-5!!!" The FOCAL-1968 version was built to check location 0 to see if the mini is a PDP-5. FOCAL-1968 ('69 too) was written for all PDP-8 models + the PDP-5. If you don't have the "old" version of FOCAL then I can send you one. john ----- Original Message ----- From: Chuck McManis To: Classic Computers Sent: Tuesday, April 25, 2000 12:02 PM Subject: PDP-5 Focal > Hi John, and anyone else. You know, even the new computers I score (like the Pentium III-600 that I am typing on now ) wants to be an old minicomputer too! The CMOS checksum keeps scrambling and the date reverts back to 1997. I am realy worried though. The last time it booted I thought it said "TOPS-20" - I guess even Pentium IIIs can dream.... john > John Wilson > D Bit >
