Operating system release and operating system version provide a way of
naming the stages in the growth of the UNIX operating system.  The name
UNIX System V Release 2.1 means that it is release 2, version 1 of the UNIX
operating system number five.  The system changes with changes to the
"kernel"\S*\S.  The release changes when the shell changes.  The version
changes when ever there are enhancements made to the commands.
