\Sdiff3\S: Examples

        diff3 version.1 version.2 version.3

Lists the lines in each file that you must change to make "version.1",
"version.2", and "version.3" identical. \Sdiff3\S organizes the changes
according to those that result because all three files are different,
because "version.1" is different, "version.2" is different and "version.3"
    is different.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

        diff3 -3 version.1 version.2 version.3

Uses the changes that are listed when "version.3" is different from the
other two to create a script. The script can be used by ed(1) files to
change "version.1" so that it is identical to "version.3".

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

        diff3 -x version.1 version.2 version.3

Finds the changes that \Sdiff3\S lists when "version.1", "version.2", and
"version.3" are different from one another and prints a script of ed(1)
commands. This script changes "version.1" to include the differences in
    "version.3".
